Cops: Burglars hit same Carle Place home twice
A pair of burglars were arrested Thursday after they broke into the same Carle Place home twice this week and stole jewelry from the homeowner, Nassau County police said. The two were arrested after a relative of the victim recognized one of the suspects, police said.
Christopher Cincotta, 22, of 3638 Marinor St., Seaford, and Kristin Gallo, 22, of 42 S. 17th St., New Hyde Park, faced arraignment Friday at First District Court, Hempstead, on two counts each of second-degree burglary, police said.
In both burglaries the pair entered through the same back window at the 12th Street home, police said.
Cincotta and Gallo took jewelry in the first burglary Wednesday at about 11 p.m., police said.
They returned to the house Thursday at about 3:30 p.m. and took cash and jewelry "but were confronted by a relative of the homeowner as they left," a police report said.
The relative recognized Cincotta, police said.
"Cincotta and Gallo told the 66-year-old male they were there to check on the homeowner and a neighbor had let them in," the report said. "The male became suspicious, checked the home and discovered items missing. He then notified police."
Cincotta and Gallo were arrested at their homes.
