Cops: Chili's waitress stole credit card numbers

A waitress at a Westbury restaurant was arraigned Friday on charges of using an illegal skimmer device to steal credit card information police said she then used to make more than $5,000 in illegal purchases at Roosevelt Field mall.
Brittany Louis, 24, of 75-25 153rd St., Apt. 511, Flushing, was arrested Thursday and charged with third-degree grand larceny, second-degree unlawful possession of a skimmer device and four counts of third-degree unlawfully possessing personal identification information, Nassau County police said.
At her arraignment Friday in First District Court in Hempstead, Louis was ordered held on $2,500 bond or $2,500 cash.
Police said that between December 2013 and the time she was arrested Louis used her position as a waitress at Chili's on Corporate Drive to skim credit card numbers, information she then used to make illegal purchases at Bloomingdale's.
The total loss to Citibank was $5,438.80.
Police said Louis was arrested by U.S. Secret Service agents and detectives from the Crimes Against Property Squad at Chili's at 5:45 p.m.
