Cops: Driver charged in Southern State road rage
A Roosevelt man driving a pickup truck Monday on the Southern State Parkway in North Bellmore tried to force another driver off the road and also threw a bottle at the man's car, State Police said.
Leonardo Argueta, 45, faces charges of reckless endangerment, harassment and reckless driving, police said.
He is scheduled to appear at First District Court in Hempstead on Sept. 26.
Argueta was driving on the parkway, near Newbridge Road, at about 3:55 p.m. when he and the driver of another vehicle, a Nissan, were involved in a road-rage incident, police said.
Police said Argueta tried to force the Nissan off the road and also threw a bottle at the car.
When the two drivers stopped, Argueta approached the other driver in a threatening manner, police said.
Drivers seeing the incident also stopped "to render assistance" before troopers arrived to arrest Argueta, police said.
