Cops: Driver dies after hitting utility pole in Garden City

A Nesconset man was killed Saturday morning when his speeding car struck a utility pole in Garden City, police said.
Brett O. Dinsky, 35, was driving a 2013 BMW M5 at a "high rate of speed" about 10:15 a.m. on Franklin Avenue when the car struck a telephone pole at the 2nd Street intersection, according to the Nassau County Police Department.
The BMW was impounded for safety inspections, police said. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
