Cops: Driver hurt as car hits building
A driver was seriously injured early Monday when his car jumped the curb and hit a building in New Hyde Park, Nassau police said.
The driver, 65, has head trauma due to the accident, which happened about 9:50 a.m. on Jericho Turnpike near South Fourth Street, police said.
Police Monday night were investigating the accident.
The turnpike was closed to eastbound traffic, police said, and the road was not fully opened until 3:30 p.m.
