The driver of a Corvette that partly shattered upon colliding with a large van Sunday night survived the crash in Freeport, Nassau police said.

The accident occurred about 9 p.m. on Atlantic Avenue near the bridge over Milburn Creek, police said. The Corvette struck the back of a Ford Econoline van, police said.

Pictures from the scene showed that much of the passenger side of the Corvette was ripped away.

There were no injuries, police said.
