Cops: Driver tried to lure two girls in Roosevelt
First Squad detectives are investigating a report that a driver tried to lure two girls into his sport utility vehicle Thursday in Roosevelt, Nassau County police said.
Police said in a news release that two girls, ages 12 and 13, were walking on Hansom Place about 9:45 a.m. when a man driving a gray SUV asked them to get in.
The girls refused and the man drove away, police said, only to return. The girls continued walking and the man then drove off for good, north on Hansom Place.
No injuries were reported, police said.
