A driver was robbed at gunpoint early Sunday after stopping in Roosevelt, Nassau County police said.

The 44-year-old victim had stopped at East Fulton Avenue and Hale Place at 2:15 a.m. when a man approached him with a handgun, police said.

The armed man demanded money and a cellphone, which the victim gave him, police said. The suspect then ran east on East Fulton Avenue, police said. The victim was not injured.

The suspect was described as in his 20s, 5 feet 11 inches tall, 180 pounds and wearing a black ski mask.

Police ask anyone with information about this case to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
