Third Squad detectives are looking for a man who punched a drugstore employee in the face during a robbery Sunday in New Hyde Park, Nassau County police said.

At about 3:04 p.m., police said a 65-year-old employee of the CVS Pharmacy at 310 Hillside Ave., tried to stop a man from leaving the store without paying for merchandise, largely an assortment of over-the-counter medications.

The man punched the employee in the face and fled the store through an emergency fire exit, police said.

The store employee was treated and released at Winthrop-University Hospital in Mineola, police said.

Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477. All calls will be kept confidential.
