Cops: Drunken driver hits car, guardrail
A Wantagh woman who hit another car on the Southern State Parkway in Roosevelt Sunday and then hit a center-median guardrail was arrested on a drunken driving charge, State Police said.
Stephanie Quinones, 21, was driving a Pontiac west on the parkway near Exit 21, Nassau Road, at about 11:28 a.m. when she hit a Honda and then hit the guardrail in the median, police said in a news release.
Troopers dispatched to the scene said they detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverage on Quinones. She was arrested and produced a breath-analyzer sample of .09 percent, police said.
She is charged with DWI and traffic violations, police said.
Her arraignment information at First District Court in Hempstead was not immediately available.
