Cops: Drunken driver in Plainview crash

A driver who lost control of his car and crashed into a utility pole Monday morning in Plainview, knocking down wires and closing Manetto Hill Road for more than two hours, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, Nassau County police said.
The identity of the man has not been released.
Police said he was injured in the crash -- and was taken to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow.
His condition was not immediately known.
Police said the crash occurred around 8:30 a.m. and said the road was closed at 8:39 a.m. in both directions at Gilbert Road. The road was closed for about two hours, police said, while repairs were made.
