Cops: Duo stole $8G from victim's bank account
Two women face larceny charges, accused of fraudulently withdrawing $8,500 from another person's bank account on Thursday, Nassau County police said.
Akyra Hendrickson, 20, of 880 Jefferson Ave., Brooklyn, and Shenia J. Harrison, 18, of 46 Madison Rd., Amityville, are each charged with third-degree grand larceny and third-degree attempted grand larceny.
Hendrickson also faces two counts of possession of a forged instrument.
The two are scheduled to be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.
Detectives from the Crimes Against Property Squad said the two women entered the Wells Fargo Bank at 137 Jackson Ave. in Syosset and withdrew $8,500, using the identification of a woman, 29, from upstate Northfield.
After getting the cash, the women went to another Wells Fargo Bank, at 9 Northern Blvd. in Greenvale, used the same identification and tried to withdraw $7,500 from the victim's account.
The teller became suspicious, and the bank contacted the victim to verify the transaction, police said.
Third Precinct officers went to the bank and arrested the two without incident, police said.
