An East Norwich man pulled over for tailgating and weaving through traffic Thursday on the Northern State Parkway in New Cassel faces a DWI charge, State Police said.

Alistair Lind, 62, was driving a black Jaguar east on the parkway, east of the Wantagh Parkway, when he was stopped at about 6:49 p.m., police said.

Troopers who interviewed Lind noticed the driver had bloodshot, watery eyes, poor motor coordination, impaired speech and a strong odor of alcohol, police said.

He failed sobriety tests and was arrested, police said.

Lind provided a breath-analyzer sample of .11 percent, police said.

He is charged with DWI and several traffic violations and scheduled to appear in First District Court in Hempstead on July 7.
