An Elmont man was beaten and robbed in the driveway of his home on John Avenue early Monday, Nassau County police said.

The robber punched his 42-year-old victim, leaving him with cuts and swelling to his face, police said.

The robber, about 6 feet tall and of medium build, removed a wallet containing cash from the victim's pocket and fled on foot, police said.

The incident occurred about 1:54 a.m., police said.

The victim refused medical attention, police said.
