Cops: Elmont man robbed in driveway

A gun-totting robber and an accomplice stole a brown paper bag containing money from a 40-year-old man in the victim's driveway on Biltmore Avenue in Elmont on Saturday, police said.

Shortly before 11 a.m. a man acting as though he was lost approached the victim and then flashed a handgun, Nassau County police said. An accomplice then joined the armed robber, police said, and took the man's car keys and a bag containing an unknown amount of cash. The two jumped into their own vehicle, a dark colored Jeep Cherokee, driving south before turning east on Bonta Street, police said.

The armed assailant was described as a muscular man in his 30s, 5-foot-9 with a thin beard who wore a gray T-shirt and white doo rag. His accomplice was described as a 6-foot, muscular man in his 30s who wore a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and blue gym pants.

The case was still under investigation on Saturday afternoon.
