Nassau police arrested an Elmont man Saturday night on charges he stole money from a man he met on Craigslist.

Fourth Squad detectives said Tyrone Pierre, 20, of 578 Oakley Ave., met the 23-year-old male victim through an online ad on Craigslist. Both men agreed to meet in the parking lot of 229 W. Merrick Road in Valley Stream on Friday at 11:30 p.m. where Pierre was to sell the man 10 Apple iPhone 5 cellphones for an undisclosed amount of money. When the man opened one of the phone boxes to ensure the phone was in the box, Pierre threatened the victim, flashed the gun and left the scene with the money, according to a police report.

Detectives arrested Pierre on Saturday at about 9 p.m. at his house, police said. He is charged with first degree robbery, criminal use of a firearm, and criminal possession of marijuana. He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in First District Court in Hempstead.
