Nassau police have arrested a Freeport man who they said stole as much as $117,000 from East Garden City's Bloomingdale's, where he worked and was able to hatch an identity theft scheme.
Yorell Moses, 27, of 100 Wallace St., a sales associate at the store, is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in First District Court in Hempstead, a day after he was arrested at the store and charged with second-degree grand larceny, police said.
His attorney could not be reached for comment Tuesday night.
The Crimes Against Property Squad said Moses defrauded the company and customers by purchasing merchandise and gift cards with stolen credit card information acquired by friends of his between November 2013 and March 2014.
Moses would use some of the gift cards to buy items at other Bloomingdale's locations and then return them for credit to his own Bloomingdale's store credit card, police said.
