An employee of a Massapequa flooring company was arrested Thursday after allegedly taking more than $117,000 in business checks, Nassau police said.

From June 2009 to January 2011, Matthew Zaroba, 46, of East Islip, took checks made out to A&M Flooring and deposited them in his account, police said.

Zaroba was arrested at his home at 125 Beecher Avenue Ext., and charged with second-degree grand larceny, police said.

He was arraigned Thursday and held on a bail of $10,000 bond or $5,000 cash.
