Cops: Franklin Square bank robbed by pair
Two men robbed a Capital One Bank in Franklin Square on Friday evening, police said.
Nassau police said the pair, one wearing a blonde wig, dark baseball cap and orange sunglasses and the other, wearing a blue jacket with white sleeves and armed with two handguns, entered the 550 Franklin Ave. bank around 5:30 p.m. and demanded money from several tellers.
After obtaining an undetermined about of money, the two fled out the rear door into the parking lot and were last seen heading north into the creek bed behind the Friendly's restaurant, police said. There were five employees present during the robbery and none was injured, police said.
Detectives request anyone with information about the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
