Cops: Freeport teens charged in cabbie rob

Two Freeport teens were arrested and charged with robbing a 66-year-old cab driver who picked them up Monday in South Floral Park and drove them to a Freeport fast-food restaurant, Nassau County police said.

According to police, a Long Island Checker Cab picked up Isaiah Smalls, 17, and Eric Brown, 16, Monday night and drove them to the McDonald's at 57 Merrick Rd. Once there, one defendant held an unknown object to the back of the driver's neck, while the other took an unknown amount of cash from his side door, police said. The alleged robbers then fled on foot.

Smalls, arrested Tuesday night, and Brown, arrested Wednesday morning, were each charged with first- and second-degree robbery. They are scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in First District Court, Hempstead.
