Cops: Garden City Park gas station attendant robbed

A man robbed a Shell gas station in Garden City Park Sunday night, threatening the attendant, stealing money and fleeing the scene, police said.

Nassau County police are searching for the robber, who fled on foot, and are asking anyone with information contact Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential, police said.

The robbery occurred at 7:15 p.m. at the Shell station on County Courthouse Road.

Police said the station attendant was robbed after the suspect followed him back into his office, threatened him - and demanded cash. It was not immediately clear if the robber was armed or what kind of threats were made. Police did not say how much money was taken during the robbery.
