Cops: Glen Cove man charged with Medicaid fraud
The owner of a Glen Cove ambulette company was arrested Thursday in connection with a Medicaid fraud case, Glen Cove police said.
Abraham Amado, 67, of Glen Cove, was charged with third-degree grand larceny after an investigation by the state attorney general’s office found that between January 2004 and October 2006, Amado’s company, Evri Ambulette, of 19 Bridge St., billed Medicaid for more than $3,000 for services it did not render, Glen Cove Lt. Tom Fitzpatrick said.
Glen Cove police carried out the arrest, Fitzpatrick said.
Amado pleaded not guilty on Oct. 14 First District Court in Hempstead. His next court appearance is on Oct. 27.
