A Far Rockaway teen wielding a golf club threatened a man and smashed car windows after breaking into a relative's home in Woodmere Monday morning, Nassau County police said.

Zelig Liebowitz, 17, broke into the home at about 4:27 a.m., police said, then proceeded to "menace the 22-year-old male victim." Liebowitz then left the home and smashed the car windows of a 28-year-old woman who lives at the house, according to cops.

Liebowitz was stopped by police as he fled on foot and became combative when officers tried to take him into custody, cops said.

One officer injured his right knee in the ensuing scuffle. No other injuries were reported, police said.

Liebowitz is charged with criminal mischief, assault, burglary and possession of a dangerous weapon, police said. He was scheduled for arraignment Monday at First District Court in Hempstead, police said.
