Cops: Group robbed Roosevelt deli at gunpoint

Police are searching for four people who robbed a deli in Roosevelt Sunday night at gunpoint then fled with cash and the keys to the owner’s car.

Nassau County police said the armed robbery took place at Charlie’s Deli on Babylon Turnpike at 11:37 p.m.

All four of the robbers were male, though police did not specifiy whether they were adults or teens.

Police said the 48-year-old owner sold an icea tea to one of the robbers, who then held the door to the deli open for the other three robbers as he left.

Two of the robbers had handguns, police said.

The third went behind the counter, took cash and the car keys. All four of the robbers then fled together, running southbound on Babylon Turnpike, police said.

One of the robbers carried a black handgun, the other a silver handgun, police said.

One wore a black hoodie with a mask, the second a blue jacket with a baseball cap and mask, the third had a mask, black hoodie, blue jeans and carried a red backpack.

The robber, who bought the iced tea, wore black clothing, a red bandanna and a blue Yankees baseball cap.
