Cops: Woman robbed of cellphone at gunpoint in Roosevelt

A woman sitting in her parked car in Roosevelt was robbed of her iPhone at gunpoint early Friday, Nassau County police said.

First Squad detectives said the woman, 23, was parked on East Clinton Avenue, between Denton Place and Wagner Avenue, at about 3 a.m. when a man opened her driver side door.

The man, who displayed a black handgun, tried to grab her wallet, which was on her lap, but the woman held on to it, police said.

The man then swiped her iPhone and fled on foot.

The woman was not injured, police said.
