A Westbury bank was robbed Friday by a man who displayed a handgun and threatened to use a bomb, Nassau police said.

A teller at the Bank of America, 248 Post Ave., gave the robber an unspecified amount of money, police said. The gunman left the bank about 1:45 p.m., police said, headed in an unknown direction.

None of the 10 employees or five customers in the bank were injured, police said.

Robbery Squad detectives asked that anyone with information call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
