A gas station attendant in Hempstead handed over an undisclosed amount of cash early Monday when a heavy-built man, around 40, pulled a silver handgun and demanded money, Nassau County police said.

The 40-year-old attendant was working at the Citgo at 711 Fulton Ave., when he was approached at 12:24 a.m. by the man who, after getting the money, fled in a dark-colored, older-model vehicle, police said.
