A Hempstead man died Friday after hitting the rear passenger door of a vehicle that was pulling into a driveway in Hempstead, Nassau County police said.

Gregory Morrell, 32, of Hempstead, was traveling eastbound on Lawson Street when his motorcycle struck a vehicle that was pulling into a driveway east of Long Beach Road about 7:12 p.m., police said.

He was taken to Mercy Medical Center in Rockville Centre, where he was pronounced dead at 7:27 p.m., police said.

No one else was injured, police said.

The car and motorcycle were impounded for brake and safety checks. No criminality is suspected at this time, police said.
