A Hempstead man stabbed two men in separate incidents this week, robbing one of them, Nassau police said.
Police arrested Eddie C. Harris, 32, who they said was homeless, at 5:40 Wednesday morning in Bellmore, charging him with assault, robbery, criminal possession of stolen property and criminal possession of a weapon.
Harris had stabbed a 47-year-old man in his arm, chest and back in front of Laundry Palace at 181 West Merrick Rd. in Freeport, police said, taking the man's wallet and driving off in his own vehicle, only to crash into a tree a short while later and continue his escape on foot.
During their investigation into that case, police said they connected Harris with the Tuesday night stabbing of a 35-year-old man in his stomach front of his California Place South home in North Long Beach.
Both of the stabbed men were hospitalized, said a police spokeswoman, but their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
Harris was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
