A 65-year-old man, walking along Hempstead Turnpike in Elmont, was dragged behind a trash bin by two men, who then stole his jewelry, watch and cash before fleeing Sunday night, Nassau County police said.

The victim was not injured.

Police are asking help in locating the suspects.

Police said the robbery took place at about 11:15 p.m. They said the victim was approached by two suspects, one of whom placed "an unknown metal object" to the back of the victim's neck -- then dragged him behind a trash bin in a nearby courtyard. The robbers then began yelling and cursing and demanded the victim turn over his personal belongings, police said.

After stealing the jewelry, a black watch and cash, the robbers fled on foot toward Elmont Road, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.

All calls will remain confidential, police said.
