A Brooklyn woman was arrested Tuesday for taking 100 oxycodone pills from Nordon Drugs in Malverne in August while working for a company that removes expired pharmaceuticals from drugstores, police said.

Nassau police said Shivashti I. Mahabir, 45, was working for Reverse Distributors Inc., on Aug. 27 when she took 100 non-expired oxycodone pills from the Malverne drugstore. Police said pharmacy employees caught Mahabir on a surveillance camera.

Mahabir was arrested at her home and charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and petty larceny. Police said she was also fired from her job the same day.

Representatives at Reverse Distributors, a Florida-based company, could not immediately be reached for comment.

Mahabir will be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
