Cops: Holbrook woman tried to get painkiller with altered scrip
A Holbrook woman was arrested Thursday on charges she tried to get oxycodone from a Seaford pharmacy with an altered prescription, Nassau police said.
Krystyna Barna, 28, was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument related to an incident that occurred in May, police said.
Police said Barna presented the prescription for oxycodone to a pharmacist at Charlie's Family Pharmacy on Merrick Road in Seaford just before 10 a.m. on May 16. A subsequent investigation led to Barna being arrested at First District Court in Central Islip, where she was appearing on other charges, on Thursday.
Barna is scheduled to be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Friday.
