Cops hunt man who tried to lure teens with Happy Meal
Nassau police are searching for a man who they say targeted teenaged girls last week in Oceanside.
On Thursday afternoon at about 3:50 p.m., the suspect, who police say is aged 45 to 55, grabbed a 17-year-old girl by the hips and pulled her to his body at the corner of Brower Avenue and Oceanside Parkway. The girl was able to run away.
The next day, at 6:20 p.m., the same man - this time driving a dark sports-utility vehicle on Merle Avenue - tried to solicit two girls to come near him by offering to share a McDonald's Happy Meal with them, police said. The girls, aged 13 and 14, ran inside a restaurant for safety.
Nassau police ask that anyone with any information about these cases should contact Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
