Police Tuesday released the name of the man slain over the weekend in a double shooting in Hempstead Village.

He was identified as Michael Watts, 21, who lived in the village, according to Nassau police. The shooting happened Saturday just before 6 a.m. at the intersection of Linden Avenue and Linden Place, just east of West Peninsula Boulevard.

According to detectives, two male victims were at the intersection when they were shot by an unknown suspect. Watts was pronounced dead at 7:02 a.m. by hospital staff. The second male victim was treated for his injuries at a hospital. Police had no details Tuesday on the other victim's condition.
