Police are investigating the scene at a fast-food restaurant in Hempstead after a 32-year-old man was found dead in a bathroom there Monday morning.

The incident at the McDonald's, 86 Main St., was reported as "an unconscious male" in a 911 call at 8:44 a.m., Hempstead police said.

Investigators from Hempstead police and the Nassau County police Third Precinct responded to the scene, but police said it was not immediately clear if the cause of death was suspicious or criminal.

The identity of the victim was not released pending notification of next of kin.

Police said the medical examiner will determine a cause of death.
