Cops: Man shot in stomach in Roosevelt

A man, about 27 years old, was shot in the stomach Friday morning in Roosevelt and was taken to an area hospital in serious but stable condition, Nassau County police said.

Responding to a 5 a.m. call, officers found the man in front of a Horace Avenue address -- but not in the street, police said, adding that they believe the victim had been walking south on Horace when he was assaulted.
