An Inwood woman who drove through a closed construction zone Wednesday night on the Loop Parkway has been arrested on charges of drunken driving, state police said.

Romina Lucero, 23, of 17 Oak Pl., was driving a white Ford through the construction zone near the drawbridge at about 11:20 p.m. Wednesday night when she was pulled over by state troopers.

While being interviewed, Lucero had strong odor of alcohol and bloodshot watery eyes, police said.

She produced a breath-analyzer sample of .17 percent, police said, and was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated, driving with a suspended license and various vehicle and traffic violations.

Lucero was arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead and is scheduled to return to court on April 16.
