Nassau County police are investigating the robbery of two youths as they left a bus stop Friday afternoon in Baldwin.

Police said two males approached an 11- and 13-year-old, both boys, who were walking home from their bus stop on Forest Avenue at about 3 p.m. Police said one male who was wearing a dark coat and a white hooded sweatshirt demanded belongings and then removed a cellphone from the 11-year-old victim's pocket. That suspect then pushed the 13-year-old to the ground and removed his iPhone, police said. Both suspects then fled on foot in an unknown direction, police said.

The 13-year-old suffered a head contusion and was taken to a hospital by Nassau County Ambulance.

The second suspect, police said, who "just stood there without saying anything," is described as wearing black-and-white Air Jordan sneakers with "23" on the back.

Police said the robbery occurred in the vicinity of Centennial Avenue.

Detectives ask anyone with information to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. Callers will be kept anonymous.
