Cops: Levittown argument ends in knifing

A 20-year-old man was arrested on assault and weapon possession charges after he stabbed another man in the head during an argument early Friday morning in Levittown, Nassau County police said.
Nicholas Vairo, of 208 Wantagh Ave., Levittown, was arrested near his home without incident and charged with second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
Police said that, during a verbal argument that occurred just before 1 a.m., Vairo stabbed a 20-year-old man in the left temple. The victim was taken by private auto to a hospital for treatment, police said. His condition was unknown.
Police said Vairo faces arraignment Friday in First District Court in Hempstead.
