Officers responding to a 911 call Friday about pre-dawn gunshots fired into the air arrested a Levittown man who had a handgun in his possession, Nassau police said.

Michael Collier, 29, of 120 Twig Lane, is scheduled to be arraigned Saturday on second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree reckless endangerment, police said.

Authorities got a 911 call about 4:30 a.m. about a male shooting a gun into the air in Levittown, near Twig Lane and Newbridge Road, detectives said.

Collier was walking away from the area and fit the description of the gunman, police said. He was arrested without incident and a .45-caliber handgun found on him, police said.
