A Levittown woman was assaulted and robbed early Wednesday as she got out of her car in her driveway, Nassau County police said.

Second Squad detectives are looking for a man with dark, shoulder-length hair who took the woman's pocketbook containing a driver's license and an unspecified amount of cash.

The woman, 24, was getting out of her car after pulling into her driveway at her Crest Lane home at about 12:30 a.m., police said.

The suspect threw the woman to the ground, grabbed her pocketbook, and then ran west on Crest Lane, police said.

The victim had an abrasion to her right elbow but declined medical assistance, police said.

Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477. All calls will be kept confidential.
