Westbound lanes of the Long Island Expressway at Exit 41 were closed for nearly an hour early Thursday because of a motor-vehicle accident, according to Nassau County police and the state Department of Transportation.

Police sent an email advisory at 7:08 a.m. that the lanes were closed and urged that motorists use alternate routes.

Informny.com, the state DOT website, said authorities were at the scene of an overturned vehicle between Exits 40 and 39 in Old Westbury.

A webcam at informny.com showed vehicles exiting the LIE at Exit 41; another webcam, near Exit 39, showed authorities at the scene.

The state site said the situation was resolved at 7:56 a.m.

Nassau police said they had no information regarding injuries and that Old Westbury police were in charge of the investigation.

A phone call to Old Westbury police seeking more information was not immediately returned.
