The westbound Long Island Expressway in Old Westbury was partially closed for about 20 minutes Monday morning due to a truck fire, Nassau police said.

The closure, which was announced before 11:30 a.m., also briefly snarled eastbound traffic through the area, west of Exit 40, the Jericho Turnpike exit, police said.

New York State Department of Transportation traffic cameras located at Powells Lane showed the truck on fire near the right-hand shoulder of the westbound LIE. Traffic cameras also had shown eastbound traffic backed up for several exits coming into the area.

It was not clear if there were any injuries associated with the fire.

The DOT said the road was reopened at 11:46 a.m.
