A car fire closed two lanes of the westbound Long Island Expressway in East Hills early Tuesday for nearly 90 minutes.

Nassau County police and the state Department of Transportation website said the fire at about 5:15 a.m. closed the expressway at Exit 39, Glen Cove Road.

A police spokesman said there were no injuries and that all lanes were open at about 6:45 a.m.
