Police arrested a Lindenhurst man after a struggle with police at a West Hempstead nightclub early Saturday morning, Nassau County police said.

Officers responded to a call about an imminent fight at the club Tabu shortly before 3 a.m. and ordered a crowd to disperse. Emanuel Rodriguez, 25, of 101 Surf Rd., Lindenhurst, "refused to leave and started yelling, cursing and became combative towards the officers," according to a news release.

It was unclear from the report whether the incident took place inside or outside the club, police spokesman Eric Evensen said.

Police said that Rodriquez resisted arrest, injuring three officers who required medical treatment. All three officers were released from a nearby hospital after being treated for back injuries.

Police charged Rodriguez with three counts of second-degree assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. He was to be arraigned Sunday in First District Court in Hempstead.
