Two students at the LIU Post in Brookville were arrested Tuesday night and charged with possessing -- and selling -- Ecstasy on campus, police said.

Frank Catalano, 20, of 1368 76th St., Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, and Ryan Sloane, 20, of 7 Polo Lane, Westbury, were arrested at 10 p.m. by detectives from the Nassau County police Asset Forfeiture Unit.

Each was charged with second-degree and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, as well as second-degree criminal possession of marijuana and fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. Both are scheduled for arraignment Wednesday in First District Court in Hempstead.

Police said Catalano and Sloane were "observed" selling Ecstasy on campus before being arrested by officers.

Ecstasy -- technically, methylenedioxymethamphetamine or MDMA -- is "a synthetic, psychoactive drug chemically similar to the stimulant methamphetamine," according to literature from the National Institute on Drug Abuse.
