Cops: Louisiana man exchanged sexual texts with Freeport girl
A Louisiana man was arrested Tuesday after he was found to be exchanging sexual text messages with a 12-year-old Freeport girl, Nassau police said.
Adam Shilow, 34, of 210 St. George St., Eunice, La., was found to be exchanging the messages using a cellphone texting app called Tango, Nassau police said in a news release.
The arrest came after an investigation started in November by the department's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, along with the St. Landry Parish sheriff's office, Eunice Police Department and Homeland Security, police said.
Shilow is a Level 1 sex offender. He faces Louisiana state charges that include indecent pornography involving juveniles, indecent behavior involving juveniles, computer-aided solicitation of a minor and unlawful use of social networking.
