A parolee with an extensive criminal history was arrested Tuesday after he "took possession of a crate" shipped to his Roosevelt home that contained about 220 pounds of marijuana, State Police said.

Tony McClam, 42, who is on New York State parole and has multiple felony arrests, was charged with first-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a class C felony.

McClam, of Clinton Avenue, was to be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead.

The company that shipped the crate "had no involvement," State Police said in a news release.
