Cops: Man assaulted 2 Nassau officers
A Brooklyn man was charged with assaulting two Nassau police officers and resisting arrest in Cedarhurst on Tuesday when they tried to arrest him on a third degree grand larceny charge, police said.
Michael Wright, 22, of 1258 Loring Ave. Apt. 3D, the subject of enquiries into fraudulent banking activities, was at the Citibank at 530 Central Ave., about 12:50 p.m., police said, when bank officials notified Nassau police.
When two Fourth Precinct officers arrived, Wright fled the bank on foot, police said. The officers chased him and Wright was taken into custody, police said.
The two officers, whose names were not released, were treated at a hospital for unspecified injuries and released, police said.
