A men walking down a Roosevelt street early Sunday morning was beaten, cut and robbed by a group of seven men, Nassau police said.

The 22-year-old victim was walking eastbound on East Clinton Avenue at about 3 a.m. when he passed by seven men standing on the corner of East Clinton and Park avenues. The men began following the victim, and one of them asked if he had a dollar.

When the victim turned around, one of the suspects punched him in the face, then all seven of the suspects began beating him, knocking him to the ground.

Another suspect used a knife to cut the victim's neck and remove a gold chain before all of the suspects ran away.

The victim used a private vehicle to go to a hospital, where he was treated for his injuries and released. Police said the suspects were described as in their late teens or early 20s.
